[会议背景介绍]

We proudly announce the upcoming 72nd Annual Congress of Japan Clinical Ophthalmology to be held in Tokyo from 11 to 14 of October in 2018. The congress venue will be the Tokyo International Forum and the JP Tower Hall and Conference.

We are honored to host this largest ophthalmology conference in Japan. We deeply appreciate and thank the Japanese Ophthalmological Society and associates for their help in planning and preparations for this conference.

The title of this meeting is, “Save the Vision”. Hopefully, the information gained at this meeting will allow each of us to evaluate what and how to treat our patients and what we can do to ameliorate all eye diseases.

Professor Akito Hirakata, Professor and Chairman of Ophthalmology at Kyorin University and Professor Kazuhisa Sugiyama, Professor and Chairman of Ophthalmology at Kanazawa University Graduate School of Medicine will present the plenary lectures on vitreoretinal diseases and glaucoma.

We have also have invited lectures by Professor Hans E. Grossniklaus, from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and Professor Bill Aylward, Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon and Medical Director at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, United Kingdom. Professor Grossniklaus will speak about the pathology of retinal diseases and Professor Aylward will have a presentation about his clinical experiences with retinal diseases.

We have also proposed having International Symposia, “the Asian Ophthalmology forum”, in the fields of ocular surface diseases, glaucoma, and medical and surgical treatments of chorioretinal diseases. The leading researchers throughout Asia will discuss the latest topics. We expect these symposia will help us globalize the Ophthalmological Societies of Asia further.

We hope that all ophthalmologists will be able to learn the latest information and refresh their clinical knowledge of ophthalmology. All of the ophthalmologists and their families will be able to enjoy this beautiful time of the year in Tokyo.

The venue consists of two parts, Tokyo International Forum and JP Tower and Conference because of the increasing number of participants of the Annual Congress of Japan Clinical Ophthalmology. We hope the short walk between the two halls will be enjoyable in the fresh autumn air.

We look forward to welcoming all of you from around world to our congress in Tokyo in October 2018.
